The Church of England (Anglicans) has named a woman, Sarah Mullally, as its new Archbishop of Canterbury. Thus further shows how the Anglican Church is a church in apostasy.
Why the Anglican Church is no longer truly Christian:
* It has a woman as spiritual leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion, which is unbiblical, as the Bible requires a male-only episcopacy.
* Its overall head is the King of England, not an active member of the Church hierarchy.
* It accepts such abominations as abortion, same-sex unions and blessing by clergy of gay couples.
There are many Anglicans though who oppose this and other liberal developments in the past. Such as the Global Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans, a network of conservative Anglican churches across Africa and Asia. There is a serious rift within the Anglican Communion, which is irreparable. The best move for these Anglicans is to split from the Anglican Communion and join the Catholic Church, which they were a part off before King Henry VIII split off and formed his own church.
This is also why Christian unity, desired through ecumenical relations between Catholics and Anglicans, is an improbability. Unless liberal, progressive, heretical, heterodox, modernist forces within the Catholic Church that are also trying to protestantize the Church succeed. At the end of the day, if a split is to remain, let it be realigned—not between Anglicans and Catholics, but between liberals and conservatives.
